The Hierl Insurance High School Team of the Week is the Fondy Cardinals Football Team. The Cardinals knocked off previously unbeaten Appleton North on Friday 35-21 at Fruth Field to improve to 2-1 on the season. Jack Cole threw for four touchdowns in the win, including at 78 yarder to Noah Wenger and a 47 yard strike to Henry Lange as the Cardinals built a 28-0 lead before North got on the scoreboard in the 3rd quarter. Fond du Lac travels to Menominee, Michigan on Friday in a non-conference game.

–Billy Hamilton hit a walk-off home run off of Josh Hader with two outs in the ninth inning to give the Reds a win in game one of their three game series with the Brewers on Monday afternoon. The Brewers were shutout through six innings by Reds starter Homer Bailey, until home runs from Ryan Braun and Orlando Arcia tied the game at four in the seventh inning. The Brewers remain 3 & ½ games back of the Cubs for first place in the NL Central and are a game and a half behind Colorado for the second Wild Card spot. Game two of the series is tonight, Zach Davies gets the start for Milwaukee and will face Robert Stephenson for the Reds. Coverage begins at 5:35 pm, first pitch at 6:10 on KFIZ.

–The Rattlers finish the season 59-79 overall and 33-37 for the second half of the regular season.

NFL: The Packers have signed guard Lane Taylor to an extension. The team announced the deal Monday. The three-year deal keeps Taylor in Green Bay through 2020 and is reportedly worth $16.5 million. Taylor became a starter last season after the Packers released Josh Sitton. He was originally signed as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma State in 2013.
