The San Francisco Giants
hammered the Brewers 12-3 in the season opener at Miller Park
on Monday afternoon.  San Francisco hit back-to-back-to-back homers
in a 5 run 8th off of Ariel Pena to bust the game open.  Wily Peralta gave up five runs and six hits
in four innings to take the loss. Scooter Gennett and Jonathan Villar homered
in the loss.  The series continues

Brewers manager Craig
Counsell says that Matt Garza will miss Wednesday’s start because of shoulder
soreness.  Taylor Jungmann will move up
in the rotation to get the start in the series finale against the Giants.

in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship Game on Monday
night in Houston.  It’s the Wildcats first national championship
in men’s basketball since they shocked the world and beat Georgetown in 1985.

 

The NCAA women’s champion
will be crowned tonight as UConn takes on Syracuse
at Indianapolis.
The Huskies are trying to become the 1st women’s team to win 4
straight national championships.

 

Badger coach Greg Gard has
won the Jim Phelan National Coach of the Year Award.   Gard has named former Badger team captain Joe
Krabbenhoft to his coaching staff.  He
had been an assistant at South
Dakota
State

the last three seasons.
