The Duke Blue Devils rallied by the
Wisconsin Badgers 68-63 to win their 5th national championship.  Bo Ryan’s
Badgers led by as many as 9 points in the 2nd half before a pair of freshman brought
them back.  Tyus Jones finished with 23 and unheralded Grayon Allen
16.  Frank Kaminsky had 21 points and 12 rebounds as Wisconsin’s
year ends at 36-4.   

 

Badger sophomore Nigel Hayes said after
the game that he would be returning to school and not enter the NBA Draft.

 

Former Milwaukee Hamilton basketball
player Kevon Looney announced that he will enter the NBA Draft after just one
season at UCLA.  As a freshman for the Bruins, Looney averaged 11.6 points
and 9.2 rebounds per game. 

 

The NCAA will crown their women’s
basketball champion tonight as Connecticut 
takes on Notre Dame in Tampa.

 

It was an ugly opening day for the
Milwaukee Brewers as they get hammered by the Colorado Rockies 10-0 at Miller 
Park
The Rockies scored four runs in the 1st off of starter Kyle Lohse and never
looked back.  Lohse gave up 8 runs and 10 hits in three and a third
innings of work.  Kyle Kendrick threw seven innings of seven hit ball to
take the win. Adam Lind went 3×4 in his Brewers debut.  Aramis Ramirez
went 2×3.  Nolan Arenado went 3×4 with a homer and 4 RBI to lead the Rockies
Ryan Braun went 0x2 and left the game in the 5th inning with a lower side strain. 
His status for Tuesday night is unknown.  Game two of the series is
tonight at Matt Garza takes on Jordan Lyles.  Coverage begins at 6:35pm on
KFIZ.

UW-Oshkosh announced on
Monday that they are dropping men’s soccer and men’s tennis and after the
2015-2016 seasons.  Men’s and women’s
track and cross country will continue but with a restructured coaching
staff.  The changes are being made to
deal with a projected $7.5 million dollar cut for the school in Governor Walker’s
budget
