The Ohio State Buckeye’s won the first ever College Football
Playoff National Championship by blowing by Oregon
42-20 last night in Dallas.  Ezekiel Elliot ran for 246 yards and 4
touchdowns in the win.  It’s the 3rd
national title for Ohio
State
head coach Urban
Meyer.   The Badgers finish at #13 in the
final Associated Press Poll.

 

The Packers take today off before officially starting their
work week in preparation for Sunday’s NFC Championship Game in Seattle.  
It’s another day of treatment for Aaron Rodgers injured calf.  You’ll hear Sunday’s game on News-Talk 1450
KFIZ.  Coverage begins at 11am with the
kickoff set for 2pm.

 

The Buffalo Bills have hired Rex Ryan as their head
coach.  Ryan was fired after six seasons
as the head coach of the New York Jets where he went 50-52, including a pair of
trips to the AFC Championship Game.

 

The Denver Broncos fired head coach John Fox on Monday after
his team bowed out to Indianapolis
in the Division Round of the NFL playoffs. 
Reports stated that his quarterback Peyton Manning played the last part
of the season with a torn quad.

 

The Wisconsin men’s basketball team was dealt a huge blow on
Monday when they found out that point guard Traevon Jackson would miss the rest of the regular
season with a broken foot.  Jackson was hurts in the 2nd half of Sunday
night’s loss to Rutgers.  The Badger’s dropped to #7 in the Associated
Press Poll and #6 in the Coaches Poll after Sunday’s loss at RutgersKentucky
is #1 in both survey’s followed by Virginia, Gonzaga, Duke and Villanova. Wisconsin hosts Nebraska
on Thursday night.  You’ll hear it on

Patrick Reed won the PGA Tour’s Tournament of Champions to
open the 2015 golf season in Hawaii.  Reed beat Jimmy Walker in a playoff.
