Golden Eagles Win

Vander Blue scored a career high 30 points as #25 Marquette took down South Florida 65-50 on Monday night.  The win pulls the Golden Eagles into a first place tie with Syracuse in the Big East. Marquette is 15-4 overall and 6-1 in league play.

 

Badgers At Ohio State

Bo Ryan’s Badgers are in Columbus for a matchup with #11 Ohio State tonight.  UW is 14-6 overall and 5-2 in the Big Ten.  The Buckeyes are also 5-2 in league play and 15-4 overall.  The tip tonight is set for 6pm central.

 

Top 25

Michigan is #1 and Kansas #2 in the AP College Basketball Poll this week.  In the Coaches Poll, Kansas is #1 and Michigan #2.  Indiana, Florida, and Duke round out the top 5 in both polls.  Marquette is #25 in both polls and despite three wins over ranked teams, the Badgers are still on the outside looking in. 

 

Bucks In Motown

The Bucks are on the road tonight for a matchup with the Detroit Pistons.  The Bucks are 3rd in the NBA Central Division at 23-19.  Detroit is 4th in the division at 17-27.  The tip is set for 6:30pm central tonight.

 

Super Bowl Media Day

The circus of the Super Bowl begins today with the annual media day at the Super Dome.  Thousands of media members from around the world with show up to interview players and each other in preparation for Sunday’s game between Baltimore and San Francisco.  You’ll hear the Super Bowl on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.

 

Jennings House For Sale

Another sign that Packers free agent wide receiver Greg Jennings will not be back with the team next year is that his house is now on the market.  Jennings is asking $525,000 for the 4788 square foot home which he purchased right after he was drafted in 2006.

 

Woods Wins

Tiger Woods won for the 8th time at Torrey Pines winning the weather delayed event on Monday by four shots over Brandt Snedeker.  Jerry Kelly finished tied for 27th, 10 shots off the pace.

 

Fondy Hoops on KFIZ

The Fond du Lac boys basketball team heads to Appleton North tonight.  The Cardinals have dropped three straight and have fallen to 6-7 in league play.  Coverage begins at 7:05pm with the Backyard Grill Pregame Show on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ and kfiz.com.

 

Chilton Downs Ledgers

Jared Wagner scored 22 points as Chilton stopped St. Mary’s Springs 71-58 in a non-conference game on Monday night.  Ryan Grandlic had 18 and Darin Ward 11 for the Ledgers.  Chilton improves to 13-4 while St. Mary’s Springs drops to 14-2.  The Ledgers will host Lomira on Thursday night.  You’ll hear that game on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.
