The Brewers blanked the
Cardinals 1-0 in their series opener in St.
Louis
on Monday night. 
Mike Fiers and four relievers gave up just 8 hits on the night.  Carlos Gomez’s RBI single in the 1st
plated Jean Segura in the 1st and that held up.  The series continues tonight as Tyler Cravy
makes his Big League debut for the Brewers against Lance Lynn.  Coverage begins at 6:40pm on KFIZ.

Brewers pitcher Will Smith
had his appeal to an 8 game suspension heard by Major League Baseball on
Monday.  Smith was suspended last month
for having an illegal substance on his arm while pitching in Atlanta last month. A decision is expected by
Friday.

 

The Packers get back on the
practice field today with their Organized Team Activities workouts.  This morning’s practice is open to the public
at 11:30am on Clarke Hinkle Field.

 

The PGA Tour announced that a
Champions Tour event will be coming to University Ridge Golf Course in Madison next year.  PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem, Wisconsin
pro golfer Steve Stricker and University
of Wisconsin Athletic Director Barry Alvarez

announced the American Family Insurance Championship which will be played June
24th through the 26th
The 81 player field will have a $2 million dollar purse and will be
televised on The Golf Channel.  The
Champions Tour features players over the age of 50.

 

The Chicago Bulls are ready
to hire Iowa State’s Fred Hoiberg as their next head
coach.  The 42-year-old spent 10 seasons
in the NBA including a stint with the Bulls.

 

Less than a year after
shutting down their football program FBS school Alabama-Birmingham is bringing
the program back.  School officials have
reversed their decision after $27 million dollars was raised to support the
program.  The Blazers won’t play in 2015,
but will be back on the field in 2016. 
School administration announced last 
year that they were dropping the program even though they were bowl
eligible.

back to Miller Park
Newcastle United out of the English Premiere League will face Atlas
Futbal Club from Mexico
on Tuesday, July 14th at 8pm.
