The St.
Mary’s Springs boys golf team holds the lead at the WIAA Division Three State
Golf Tournament at University Ridge after day one.  The Ledgers shot a team total of 337 which
was 10 shots better than 2nd place Lancaster
Brady Sarauer sits in 4th place overall in D3 after a 1st
round 79. That’s 4 shots off the lead. 
Colin Ahern shot an 83, Patrick Treichel 85, and Dawson Sarauer and Ben
Hintze carded 85s.


At the Division Two meet,
WLA’s Chris Colla, the defending champ had a 1st round 78.  That ties him for 10th, seven
shots off the lead.  Campbellsport’s Jack
Adams is tied for 18th after an 83.


The Laconia
baseball team faces off with Gibralter-Washington
Island today in the WIAA Division 3
Baseball Sectional at Ripon
. A win by the
Spartans would put them in the Sectional Final this afternoon at 3:30pm.


The Fox Valley Association
has released their All-Conference Girls Soccer Team.  Fondy’s senior Maddision TeStroete was named
to the 1st Team.  Olivia
Larson and Abigail Weinke were 2nd team picks. Hailey Ahrens and Zoe
Pantel were Honorable Mention choices.


Four area teams have
qualified for the WIAA State Softball Tournament in Madison later this week.  Waupun will play Beloit Turner in a Division
Two Semifinal on Thursday night at 6pm. 
On Friday morning Oakfield faces Juda/Albany in a Division Four
Semifinal at 9am.  On Friday afternoon
Lomira plays Poynette in a D3 semifinal at 1:30pm and Laconia faces Bloomer in the other D3
semifinal at 3:30pm.  You’ll hear the
Friday games on KFIZ.


Jimmy Nelson tossed six
innings of 4 hit baseball and three relievers held Pittsburgh
to just 1 hit in a 2-0 Brewers win at a rainy PNC Park
on Monday night.  Francisco Rodriguez
struck out a pair in the 9th for his 11th save of the
season.  The series continues tonight at
Taylor Jungmann makes his Big League debut for The Crew.  Francisco Liriano stars for the Pirates.

The Brewers selected 3
players on day 1 of the Amateur Draft. 
In the 1st round, Milwaukee
selected Richland, Texas High School outfielder Trent Clark
with the 15th overall pick. 
In the 2nd round, they select University of Virginia
lefty Nathan Kirby and in round three they took Cal-Poly Pomona right-hander
Cody Ponce.


The Tampa Bay Lightning won
Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals 3-2 over the Chicago Blackhawks.  Tampa
leads the best of seven series 2-1. Game 4 is Wednesday night in Chicago.


The NBA Finals are tied at
1-1 as Golden State
heads to Cleveland
for Game 3 of the best of seven series tonight.


The Packers begin their final
round of Organized Team Activities today. 
Wednesday’s workout will be open to the public.


The United
State’s Women’s National Soccer team
opened up World Cup play in Canada
with a 3-1 win over Australia
on Monday night.
