The Miami Marlins beat the
Brewers 4-1 in their series opener on Monday night in South
Florida
.  The Brewers bats
went silent last night, going 0x8 with runners in scoring position.  Wily Peralta had a quality start coming off
of paternity leave, going six innings, giving up just 2 runs and 10 hits.  Jose Fernandez gave up just four hits in
seven scoreless innings to pick up the win. 
The series continues tonight as Zach Davies takes on Adam Conley.  Coverage begins 5:35pm on KFIZ.

 

Brewers 2nd
baseball Scooter Gennett is expected back in the Big League lineup on
Thursday.  Gennett has been on the 15-day
DL with a strained oblique.  He’ll have a
two game rehab stint at Single A, Brevard
County
starting today.

The Packers announced they
signed 2nd round draft pick Jason Spriggs.  That leaves 1st rounder Kenny
Clark and 3rd rounder Kyler Fackrell as the only unsigned draft
picks.   The team also cut five players
including defensive tackle Josh Boyd.

 

High School Baseball

The St. Mary’s Springs
baseball team defeated Brookfield Academy 3-0 at Miller Park
on Monday.  The Ledgers Blake Bauer threw
a one-hit shutout, giving up an infield hit in the bottom of the 7th.  The Ledgers got all three runs in the top of
the 6th.   Bauer drove in a
pair with an RBI single.
