Boys Soccer: Winnebago Lutheran 7, Central Wisconsin Christian 0. WLA finishes in a tie for 1st in the Flyway Conference with St. Lawrence Seminary

Boys Volleyball: Kimberly 3, Fond du Lac 0 (26-24, 25-14, 25-12)

The Oakfield Oaks football team has been selected to play in the 8-player Jamboree that’s held at D.C. Everest High School in Schofield. The Oaks take their 6-2 record up against 7-2 Luck in a game that will be played at 4pm next Saturday, October 29th.

The Hierl insurance High School Team of the Week is the North Fond du Lac/Oakfield Girls Cross Country team. They won their second straight Flyway Conference championship last week. Faith Peebles led the team individually with an 8th place finish, while Linda Lopez came in 10th.

Packers returned to work on Monday with a short week as they get ready to face the Bears on Thursday Night Football. The defense struggled against Dallas, giving up 424 yards to the Cowboys offense. Rookie linebacker Blake Martinez says they’re motivated to do better. Head Coach Mike McCarthy says the team’s Red Zone efficiency has to get better for the offense. Monday Night Football: Cardinals beat the Jets 28-3. Running back David Johnson had 111 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns for Arizona, who improves to 3-3. The Jets fall to 1-5.

The Badgers move on after their overtime loss to Ohio State and will face the Iowa Hawkeyes in Iowa City on Saturday. Quarterback Alex Hornibrook says he’s looking forward to a trophy game against Iowa. Wide Receiver Jazz Peavy says he expects a battle from Iowa. Pregame at 9am, kickoff at 11am on KFIZ.

Badgers Linebacker Jack Cichy has been named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week following his performance against Ohio State on Saturday night. Cichy finished with a career-high 15 tackles, including 11 solo stops. 3 & ½ tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble. Cichy leads the Badgers with 50 total tackles this season. The Badgers defense as a whole rank 2nd in scoring defense in the FBS at 15.2 points per game and 12th in total defense, allowing just over 311 yards per game.

NBA Preseason: Bucks fall to Detroit 102-78. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 21 points, Jabari Parker added 18. The Bucks’ last preseason game is Wednesday against Indiana at the Bradley Center.

The Bucks have acquired guard Tony Snell from the Chicago Bulls in exchange for guard Michael Carter-Williams. Snell appeared in 64 games for the Bulls last season, averaging 5.3 points and 1.0 assists in 20.3 minutes per contest. Carter-Williams appeared in 54 games last year with Milwaukee, averaging 11 points, 5.2 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game. He came to Milwaukee via trade with Philadelphia in February of 2015.

MLB:

American League Championship Series: Cleveland 4, Toronto 2. Indians lead the series 3-0. Game four is tonight in Toronto, where Cleveland can sweep the series with a win. Meanwhile, the NLCS resumes tonight between the Dodgers and Cubs. The series is tied 1-1. Game three is in LA tonight.
