–Jena Krueger scored 19 points and collected five rebounds to lead the Vikings.

Waupun 58, Mayville 46

–Sydney Flier had 14 points to lead Waupun, Mayville was paced by Syd Schultz with 11.

Central Wisconsin Christian 66, Sheboygan Christian 34

–Makayla DeYoung scored 19 points and had nine rebounds in the win for CWC.

High School Football:



The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association announced its Academic All-State awards on Tuesday, both senior players and teams were eligible for awards. Individual award winners were required to post a GPA of at least 3.75 and team award winners had to have a combined GPA among seniors of a 3.33.

Academic All-State Award Winners from the area:

From Fond du Lac High School: Jack Cole, Drew Jorgensen, Dalton Peters and Noah Wenger.

From Laconia High School: Keegan Bruins, Zach Foth and Cormac Madigan

From Mayville HS: Nikolas Giese

From St. Mary’s Springs: Zach Austin and Dawson Sarauer

Winnebago Lutheran received a team Academic All-State award with a GPA between of a 3.386. The seniors included Grant Manke, Erik Nygaard, Sam Schmitz, Kurtis Schwartz, Adler Peterson and Lucas Roecker.

NFL:

The Packers have re-signed long snapper Brett Goode and released long snapper Derek Hart. Goode suffered a hamstring injury in September and was released off injured reserve after reaching an injury settlement with the team. He was brought back by Green Bay after Hart struggled in Sunday’s win over the Bears.

College Football:  

The Wisconsin football team finds themselves one spot outside the Top Four of the College Football Playoff Rankings this week. The Badgers are 10-0 and sit at number five in the poll which was released Tuesday night. Alabama takes over as the number one team with Clemson at number two, Miami at number three and Oklahoma at four. The rest of the top 10 includes Auburn at six, Georgia at seven, Notre Dame eighth, Ohio State ninth and Penn State 10th. Wisconsin’s opponent this week, the Michigan Wolverines enter this week’s rankings at number 24.

College Basketball:

Purdue 86, Marquette 71

–Andrew Rowsey scored 25 points, Markus Howard added 24 in the loss for Marquette at the Bradley Center.
