Jean Segura’s
three-run homer in the 2nd highlighted a 5-2 Brewers win over San Diego on Wednesday night at Miller Park.  Kyle Lohse gave up just 2 runs and five hits
in seven innings of work to notch the win. 
Just one of those runs was earned. 
He struck out 5 and didn’t walk a batter as he improves to 4-1 on the
season.  Tyson Ross takes the loss. The
win moves the Brewers to ten games over .500 at 16-6.  They have a four game lead over St. Louis in the N.L.
Central.

The Brewers take
today off and then open up a three game set with the Cubs at Miller Park

Yankees pitcher
Michael Pineda was tossed out of the last night’s 5-1 loss to the Red Sox for
having pine tar on his neck.  He was
questioned earlier this season about having an illegal substance he was putting
on the ball on his body. 

 

The Green Bay
Packers will open up the NFL season at Seattle
on Thursday night, September 4th
The NFL’s opening game is the first of five primetime games on the
schedule for Green Bay.  The Packers will host Minnesota on Thursday night, October 2nd.  They travel to New Orleans on Sunday night, October 26th.  On Sunday night, November 9th they
host the Bears.  Then on Monday night,
December 8th they play host to Atlanta.  The home opener is Sunday, September 14th
at 3:25pm against the NY Jets.  The Bye
Week is Week 9.  The two Gold Package
season ticket games are the Thursday nighter vs. the Vikings and Sunday,
November 16th against Philadelphia.  3 of the first four games are on the road

Appleton East
beat Fond du Lac 155-168 in their FVA opener at Rolling Meadows on
Wednesday night.  Matt Dilling paced the
Cardinals with a 38.  Michael Barbeau
added a 40.

 

Weather
permitting we’ve got a high school baseball-soccer double header tonight on
News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.  The Fond du Lac baseball team
is scheduled to host Appleton North this afternoon at the Fondy Baseball
Complex.  Coverage is set for 4:05pm with
the Backyard Grill Pregame Show.  The
first pitch is set for 4:30pm.   The WLA
girls soccer teams hosts Omro. That game begins at 7pm.  Both games will also stream at kfiz.com and
