Chase Headley’s solo home run in the 12th off of Alfredo Figaro gave San Diego a 2-1 win over the Brewers last night at Miller Park.  The Brewers bats went silent last night collecting just seven hits.  Scooter Gennett’s solo home run in 5th was Milwaukee’s only run of the game.  Yovani Gallardo gave up just 1 run and 5 hits in seven innings of work but settles for a no decision. The series wraps up tonight as Kyle Lohse battles Tyson Ross. Coverage begins at 6:35pm on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.

 

Major League Baseball handed down suspensions for Sunday’s brawl in Pittsburgh.  Martin Maldonado gets 5 games, Carlos Gomez 3.  The Pirates Travis Snider gets two games down while Russell Martin was suspended for 1 game.  Gomez played last night as he plans to appeal.

The Marian University men’s golf team concluded the spring portion of its schedule with a strong with a team score of 317 and an overall fifth place finish at the final round of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championship played at Stonebridge Country Club, Freshmen 
Brandon Wolff and Ryonen Faris both hauled in hardware, earning All-Conference honors with Wolff bringing home Freshman of the Year accolades after leading the Sabres to the third-best score on the final day of the championship. Wolff finished seventh individually with a score of 314 (83/77/76/78), while Faris was tied for 10th with a score of 321 (82/78/83/78).
