Babe Ruth team was ousted from the U16-18 World Series with
a 7-1 loss to Mobile, Alabama
in Covington, Alabama last night in the national
quarterfinals.  Mobile scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 5th
to knock out the Bombers.

The Brewers scored five runs
in the 4th inning to stop St. Louis
6-3 on Tuesday night at Miller
Park
.  Sean Halton knocked in three runs for The
Crew.  Kyle Lohse gave up three runs in
six innings to pick up the win.  Jim
Henderson tallied save #19.  The series
wraps up this afternoon. Tom Gorzelanny gets the start for Milwaukee

Packers

The Packers final practice
of the week is this morning in Green Bay as they
get ready for Seattle
in their 3rd preseason game on Friday night at Lambeau.  Aaron Rodgers sat out Tuesday’s workout
because of a head cold.  Today’s practice
is set for 11am.

 

NFL Notes

Michael Vick has been named
the opening day starter for the Philadelphia Eagles.  Brandon Weedon will be the starter at QB in ClevelandDenver’s
Von Miller has been suspended 6 games for violating the leagues drug policy.

 

Sanders Extended

The Milwaukee Bucks have
signed big man Larry Sanders to a multi-year contract extension.  The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports it’s a
four-year deal, worth $44 million dollars.

 

High School Football

The high school football
season kicks off this weekend and KFIZ will have you covered.  On Friday night at 5:30pm, we’ll zip around
the area and chat with a handful of coaches about how their team is getting
ready for the season with the Backyard Grill Kickoff Show.  At 6:30pm, we’ll head to Fruth Field as Fond du Lac hosts
Appleton North in a non-conference game. 
The kickoff is set for 7pm.  On
Saturday night, St. Mary’s Springs hosts Sheboygan Falls
in their season opener.  Coverage on
