Wisconsin
native Paul Chryst will be named the new head coach of the University of Wisconsin
football team tonight.  Reports say
Chryst told his players at Pitt on Tuesday that he was taking the job in his
home state.  In three seasons with the
Panthers, Chryst went 19-19.   Chryst
reportedly arrived in Madison
yesterday afternoon and will be introduced at the new coach at a press
conference at 6pm tonight. 

 

Badger
running back Melvin Gordon was named to the Associated Press All-American Team
on Tuesday. Badgers are in the Outback Bowl against Auburn on January 1st.  You can hear the Outback Bowl on KFIZ

The have
lost rookie Jabari Parker for the season with a torn ACL in his left knee.  The November Rookie of the Month was hurt in
the third quarter of Monday’s win over Phoenix.  He averaged 12.5 points and 5.5 rebounds
through 25 games this season. The Bucks are in Portland tonight.  Coverage begins at 8:40pm with the tip at 9pm
on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.

 

Marquette beat Arizona State 78-71 last night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.  Transfer Luke Fischer had 19 points and 5
rebounds in his Golden Eagle debut.  Marquette hosts Alabama
A&M on Friday night.

 

The Marian University
men’s basketball team ride a six game win streak into tonight’s game with Aurora at the Sadoff
Gym.  The tip is set for 7pm on Marian’s
campus.  

 

UW-Green Bay’s men’s
basketball team is home tonight as well as they host Morehead
State at the Resch Center.  The tip is set for 7pm.

 

The Marian
women’s basketball team was handed their first loss of the season at Wisconsin
Lutheran 87-84

 

The Fond du Lac boys
basketball team rallied by West Bend West 49-37 on Tuesday night at the Acuity
Fieldhouse.  Fondy fell behind West 24-10
midway through the 2nd quarter but outscored the Spartans 39-13 the
rest of the way to pick up their first victory of the year.  Marcus Ruch led the Cardinals with 14.  Sophomore Caleb Goldstein had 10 while Sam
Frederickson added 9.  Fond du Lac hosts Appleton North on Friday
night.  You’ll hear it on KFIZ. 

 

The St. Mary’s Springs girls basketball team stayed perfect
on the season with a 48-23 win over WLA. 
Melanie Schneider had 17 and Kelli Schrauth 16 for the Ledgers.  Mackenzie Boehkle paced WLA with 9.
