Badgers Win

Sam Dekker scored 19 points as the Badgers hammered Nebraska 77-46 at the Kohl Center.  Ryan Evans chipped in 14 points and Ben Brust tossed in 13 for UW who improves to 20-8 overall and 11-4 in the Big Ten.  Minnesota beat #1 Indiana so the Badgers are just a game back of the Hoosiers in the conference race.

UW-Fond du Lac Cagers Honored

The UW-Fond du Lac men’s and women’s basketball team each had two players garner All-Conference honors.  For the men,  Freshman Brandon Waldschmidt from Laconia received 1st team honors while Fond du Lac High grad Mitch Hendrix was named Honorable Mention All-Conference.  For the women, Sophomore Megan Tews, a WLA grad, notched 2nd team honors, while Laconia’s Amber Tasso was Honorable Mention All-Conference.  All four players will be invited to participate in the WCC All-Star Game at UW-Mariette on March 10th.

 

Neitzel’s Honored At Cardinal Stritch

A pair of Neitzels have earned All-Conference Honors at NAIA Division 2 Cardinal Stritch University.  Emily Neitzel was named the CCAC Freshman of the Year, while her sister Liz was named CCAC Honorable Mention All-League.  The Wolves will be heading to the national tournament in March.

 

Thursday Prep Sports Schedule

The Thursday high school broadcast schedule is set.  On Thursday night, the Fond du Lac hockey team will take on Superior in a state quarterfinal matchup.  You’ll hear all the action on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ and streaming at kfiz.com..  The Backyard Grill Pregame Show is set for 7:50pm with the puck set to drop at 8:15pm from the Alliant Energy Center.  The game is presented by The BCI Burke Company.  Also on Thursday night,  St. Mary’s Springs and Laconia will square off in a Division Four Sectional Semifinal at Fond du Lac High School  You will hear that game on K107.1-FM.  The Backyard Grill Pregame Show comes your way at 6:35pm with the tip at 7pm.  The game is presented by Rosendale Dairy
