Winnebago Lutheran Academy’s Chris Colla won the WIAA Division Two State
Golf championship on Tuesday at University Ridge in Madison.   Colla’s even par 72 in the 2nd round
left him at -4 for the event and gave him a four shot win over Matt Bachmann of
Sheboygan Falls.  Chilton’s Alex Brandt tied for 26th
in the D2 event at +21.  In Division
Three, St. Mary’s Springs’ Patrick Treichel tied
for 4th at +9 for the two day event after shooting an 81 on
Tuesday.  His Ledger teammate Brady
Sarauer tied for 11th at +14 for the event.

 

The Ripon
baseball team is going to the WIAA State Tournament at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton after picking up a pair of victories in the
Sectional in Evansville
on Tuesday.  Ripon knocked off River Valley
5-0 and then won the Sectional with a 9-1 win over Big Foot.  The Tigers will play Viroqua next Wednesday
in a D2 Semifinal around 8:30pm.  Waupun’s
season came to an end, just one win short of state.  The Warriors blanked Watertown Luther Prep
6-0 before losing to Jefferson 5-4 in 8
innings in the Sectional Final.

 

Taylor Teagarden’s
grand slam in the 6th lifted the New York Mets to a 6-2 win over the
Brewers on Tuesday night.   Marco Estrada
gave up all six runs and was hung with the loss.  Lyle
Overbay
had a couple of
hits and an RBI in the loss. The series continues tonight.  Coverage begins at 5:35pm on News-Talk 1450

The San Antonio
Spurs blew out the Miami Heat 111-92 in Florida
on Tuesday to take a 2-1 series lead in the NBA Finals. 

 

The Los Angeles
Kings can win their 2nd Stanley Cup in 3 seasons with a win tonight
in New York.  The Kings lead the best of seven series 3-0.

 

The Packers get
back on the practice field today as offseason organized team activities
continue in Green Bay.
