Springs Falls in D2 Hockey State Final
Springs went into Saturday with their sights set on a three-peat.
Early scoring had been the name of the game for Springs the last couple contest, but they got a taste of their own medicine as they gave up a goal 26 seconds into the first.
The Ledgers would find the net, but also give up another as Rice Lake took the 2-1 lead into the second.
Springs would get the equalizer fourteen seconds into the second, but a power play goal in the final minute of the second gave Rice Lake the one goal lead. 3-2
Another power play goal would be allowed at the start of the third putting Springs into a 4-2 hole.
The Ledgers would pull the goalie to cut the lead to one with 1:20 left, but they couldn’t get the equalizer.
