Squad Replacement Starts Soon For FDL County Sheriff’s Department

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department is in the process of replacing its old Crown Victoria squad cars with new Ford Police Interceptors. Sheriff’s Captain Rick Olig says the 10 marked cars they use altogether drive about a million miles a year. He says the newer squad cars have all wheel drive and about the same size as the older Crown Vics. They already have one of the newer cars in service and he says deputies have been raving about it. Olig says it takes time to equip the newer vehicles after they receive them. He says the squad replacement effort will begin at the end of the month.
