SSM Health Could Receive Moderna’s COVID-19 Vaccine By Monday

Wisconsin is set to receive 100,000 doses of drug-maker Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine as early as Monday, that according to SSM Health Regional Vice President of Pharmacy Mo Kharbat. As of Saturday, 2000 health care workers had been vaccinated. With the addition of Moderna’s vaccine, the goal of getting every front line worker vaccinated could be attained.

One advantage Moderna has on the recently-approved Pfizer vaccine is that Moderna’s COVID vaccine does not require the cold storage, which makes it easier to store and easier to distribute.

SSM Health is used a regional hub to distribute the vaccine.
