St. Cloud Man Airlifted Following Thursday Morning Crash

One person was seriously injured as a result of a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department responded to calls Thursday March 10, 2022 at approximately 7:13 am, of a 2-vehicle crash on Hwy. G, north of Hwy. GG in the Township of Marshfield.

Investigation showed that car heading north on Hwy. G was attempting to make a left hand turn into an address on CTH G. An SUV traveling south was unable to stop and struck the vehicle that was turning left in front of the SUV.

Both vehicles came to rest in the west ditch of CTH G.  The car attempting to turn was operated by a 68-year-old male from St. Cloud who was flown from the scene by ThedaStar Air Medical helicopter to Theda Care Regional Medical Center-Neenah for treatment of serious injuries.

The SUV was operated by a 55-year-old female from New Holstein who received minor injuries and refused medical treatment on the scene. Both operators were wearing their seat belts and the driver of the passenger car (at fault) was cited for failure to yield right away while making a left turn.  

Deputies with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office along with St. Cloud Fire Department, Mt. Calvary Fire Department and First Responders, Mt. Calvary Ambulance and TedaStar Air Medical responded to the scene. CTH G was closed between CTH GG and Willow Rd for approximately 1 hour.
