St. Paul’s Cathedral to Host “Blue Evensong” this Sunday
The Fond du Lac community is invited to a special
gathering this Sunday to celebrate and honor our local police, fire and emergency
personnel. The Cathedral Church of St. Paul on Division Street is hosting “Blue
Evensong” this Sunday afternoon. “Blue refers to the uniforms of law enforcement,
fire and emergency medical services personnel,” Dean Patrick Perkins of St.
Paul’s says. “And the Blue Evensong is going to be a service of prayer and thanks
for these emergency services personnel who put their lives on the line daily
for us and for our safety.” Perkins says all are welcome to the cathedral,
regardless of their faith background to pray for our police, fire and EMS crews
and thank them for their service. The service begins at 4 pm with a reception
to honor the emergency services personnel at the Hotel Retlaw’s Crystal
Ballroom to follow.
