Standoff In Allenton
A 32-year-old Allenton man was arrested
following a standoff with police Saturday morning. Washington County Sheriff’s
officials say they got a report the man was yelling and breaking things in his
apartment just before 4:30. When deputies arrived he was seen swinging an axe
inside the apartment. From previous contact with him they knew he had martial
arts weapons inside the apartment and suspected he may have firearms as well.
Neighbors were asked to evacuate. Phone contact was established and the
Sheriff’s SWAT Team was brought in. He surrendered without incident at 7:14 a.m.
Numerous weapons were found in the apartment. He is facing several criminal
charges and was wanted on an outstanding warrant from a neighboring
County.
