Standoff In Oshkosh Ends With One Man Arrested

A standoff that began Friday afternoon ended with one man being arrested Friday evening.

Oshkosh Police blanketed the 800 block of Jackson St. where they spent almost six hours attempting to negotiate with 38-year old RIchard Christl of Oshkosh. Christl was wanted on an arrest warrant, with officers attempting to make contact with Christl Thursday evening, after they recognized him as a passenger inside vehicle. When officers approached the vehicle, Christl pointed a gun at the driver of the vehicle, with the driver exiting the vehicle and Christl taking off a high rate of speed.

S.W.A.T. and negotiator teams were on the scene at the Jackson St. location about 12:30 p.m., and over the course of the afternoon and into the early evening, were able to de-escalate the situation. It was confirmed Christl was the only person in the house, and was asked repeatedly to come out of the home, with his hands up.

Christl finally exited the house and was taken into custody shortly after 6:00 p.m.
