State Patrol Using Aerial Patrols in Parts of NE Wisconsin This Week

The Wisconsin State Patrol will be using both officers on
the ground and in the air to watch for speeders and reckless drivers along
Interstate 41 in the Fox Valley this week. Traffic enforcement efforts began
today (Monday) along I-41 in Outagamie County, and will continue Tuesday in
Winnebago County and conclude Friday along Interstate 43 in Brown County.

The State Patrol said in a news release that the goal of
these enforcement efforts is voluntary compliance with traffic laws. Most
aerial enforcement missions are made possible for federal funds specifically designated
for traffic enforcement. The State Patrol uses data on traffic crashes and
citations to identify where enforcement efforts are needed.
