State Representatives React To Hwy 23 Court Decision

Four Republican State Representatives from the area released a statement Tuesday about the delay of the State Highway 23 expansion project from Plymouth to Fond du Lac. The project was set back last Friday when a federal court halted funding for the project in a lawsuit brought by 1000 Friends of Wisconsin. State Representatives Terry Katsma of Oostburg, Tyler Vorpagel of Plymouth, Jesse Kremer of Kewaskum, and Jeremy Thiesfeldt (pictured) of Fond du Lac said in their statement,” Late last week, Federal Judge Lynn Adelman issued an order that effectively voids the federal approval that Wisconsin had previously obtained for the project.  Without this federal approval, the WI Department of Transportation has been forced to delay construction indefinitely.” They went on to say the project continues to be a tremendous priority for safety considerations and long-term economic impact. They say they are confident that federal approval for the project will be restored soon. To read more of the statement click here
