State Revokes Licenses of Salvage Dealers

The state of Wisconsin is
revoking the licenses of two Fox
Valley
salvage dealers. Gibson
Iron Metal and Auto in Neenah
and Fox Valley Iron Metal and Auto Salvage of Oshkosh are being forced to
close, as the state claims they were in violation of state law for “conducting
fraudulent activities”.

Both businesses were owned by Sterling Kienbaum, who
was sentenced to 11 years in prison back in August for stealing millions from
Sadoff Iron and Metal Company of Fond
du Lac
. Prosecutors say Kienbaum loaded scrap vehicles
with dirt to increase weight before dropping them off for payment – and Sadoff
paid Kienbaum millions of dollars in extra weight from 2009 to 2015.

A judge is
ordering both of his salvage yard to immediately stop buying scrapped vehicles,
and is giving them until the end of the year to process or recycle the vehicles
they already own.

Those businesses employ about fifty people.
