State Senate Votes Monday On Republican Redistricting

The Wisconsin Senate is scheduled to vote on new legislative and congressional districts maps on Monday.

The maps were drawn by Republicans who hold the majority in the Wisconsin legislature, are not too different from those drawn by Republicans a decade ago, and have been analyzed as being heavily gerrymandered.

The state Assembly will vote on the maps Thursday, setting up an almost certain veto by Democratic Governor Tony Evers. A final decision on new maps will most likely be made by a federal court or the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
