State Tax Burden hits 5-decade low

According to the latest issue of “The Wisconsin Taxpayer”, Wisconsin’s state and local tax burden dropped in fiscal year 2018 to its lowest level in nearly 50 years. The tax burden, defined by the experts as state and local taxes as a share of income, fell to 10.5% this fiscal 2018 year, and has steadily declined since 2011, when it was at 11.7%.
