State Unemployment Remains at Three Percent

Wisconsin’s unemployment rate remains at or
below 3-percent for the ninth consecutive month. The Department of Workforce
Development reports that the unemployment rate was 3-percent in October,
unchanged from August and September.

The state lost 1,600 private-sector jobs
over the past month, but gained 32,000 from the year prior. Before last year, Wisconsin’s unemployment
rate never dropped below 3-percent, with the record being set back in April,
when it fell to 2.8 percent.

There are about 100,000 jobs still available on
the state website.
