STEM Students Team Up With FDL Salvation Army

Fond du Lac STEM Institute Students baked, packaged and shared 237 Christmas cutout cookies with Fond du Lac Salvation Army Food Pantry clients. The cookie baking is part of the enrichment service learning partnership between STEM and The Salvation Army.   STEM Institute students created a logo, a name to reflect the partnership, rang bells alongside the Red Kettles and held regular meetings to develop the program.  “STEM partnership development is a new link in The Salvation Army’s chain of outreach to nurture the spirit of generosity in young people,” Salvation Army Director of Social Service Ron Jacobson shared. Each month about 1,000 families are blessed with 33,000 lbs of food from community generosity.
