Stroebel Ready To Take Seat In State Senate

The State Senate gets another member today with the addition of Cedarburg Republican Duey Stroebel. Stroebel won a special election for the 20th District seat triggered by the election of former Senator Glenn Grothman to Congress last fall. Stroebel says he’s ready for today’s floor session. A conservative, he says he wants to see the prevailing wage completely repealed. He notes a Wisconsin Taxpayer Alliance Study that estimates $200 million to $300 million would be saved every year with a repeal of the prevailing wage.  The former State Assemblyman holds two degrees from the U-W Madison and says he loves the U-W System but supports proposed cuts to it. Waukesha County Judge Mark Gundrum will swear Stroebel into office prior to today’s floor session.
