Student and Officer Injured, Oshkosh West High School Locked Down

The Oshkosh Police Department says there has been an
officer-involved shooting at Oshkosh West High School. The school was placed on
lock down this morning, after a student armed with a weapon confronted a school
resource officer. Police say the student and officer were both injured and transported
to local hospitals. Only one student was injured in the incident. A news
release says parents can be reunited with their children at Perry Tipler Middle
School.

The investigation into the shooting is being turned over
to the state Department of Criminal Investigations. More information will be
released as it becomes available.

The incident comes one day after a similar incident at
Waukesha South High School, where a resource officer shot a student who was
armed with a gun.
