Sturgeon Report – Day 13 : 2/21/19

Thursday’s day of sturgeon spearing saw just 10 fish registered on all of Lake Winnebago as the season continues to wind down. Just three days remain in the season for spearers to fulfill their tag. Each of the five registration stations that are still operating registered at least one fish on Thursday. The largest fish yesterday went to Linda Muche of Van Dyne – Linda’s fish measured 128.5 pounds and was 78.5 inches long. DNR Sturgeon Biologist Ryan Koenigs included his “Perseverance Awards” for the season with today’s report – given to those who are still out spearing on day 13 of the season and finally got their sturgeon.
