The second weekend of the sturgeon spearing season is complete – and 63 fish were speared on the Lake Winnebago system on Sunday. 43 of those fish registered came from Lake Winnebago itself, with another 20 from the Upriver Lakes. Six adult females were part of the 20 taken on the upriver lakes on Sunday, meaning the 90% trigger has been reached, and the spearing season will end Monday for the upriver lakes.

The largest fish speared on the system Sunday went to Kenny Swanson of Neenah – who speared a 130.1 pound, 77.2 inch sturgeon that he registered at Critters. Scott Heller of Chilton had the largest fish on Lake Winnebago on Sunday – his sturgeon was 114.4 pounds and 73.9 inches long and was registered at Quinney.
