Sun Considered A Factor In Fatal Crash

The Calumet County Sheriff’s Department says the sun was a contributing factor in a fatal crash that occurred in their county Thursday morning.

At approximately 7:02 AM, Sheriff’s deputies responded to a vehicle vs. bicycle crash on Old Highway Road near Lakeview Ct. in the Village of Harrison.

Preliminary investigation of the crash scene shows a 60-year-old man from Menasha was east bound on Old Highway Road on a bicycle when a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old female from Kaukauna hit him from behind.

It’s believed the brightness of the sun was a contributing factor causing the crash.

No names have been released at this time and the Calumet County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate the crash.
