Sunday Afternoon Fires in FDL County Cause Damage

Two fires in different areas of
Fond du Lac County caused damage to property Sunday
afternoon. Just before 2:30 pm, The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office along
with the Ripon Fire Department was called to a garage fire at N8799 County Road E
in the Town of Ripon.
The fire is believed to have started from a nearby burn barrel,  and the garage is believed to be a total
loss. The fire also caused damage to a nearby home and barn. No injuries were
reported and the fire is not considered to be suspicious. Assisting at the
scene were fire departments from the City of Fond du Lac,
Brandon-Fairwater, Princeton and Grand River along with City of Ripon Police. (Ripon Area Fire District photo)

 

About an hour later, just
before 3:30 pm, the Fond du Lac
County
Sheriff’s Office
along with Mount Calvary Fire were called to W977 South Shore Lane for a house
fire. The home sustained significant damage to the kitchen, where the fire is
believed to have started from the electrical cord on the stove. The occupants
of the home were not injured, but a 25 year old fire fighter from the Mount
Calvary Fire Department was transported to St.
Agnes Hospital

for treatment of injuries sustained while fighting the fire. He was later
released. Assisting at the scene were fire crews from the Town of Calumet and St. Cloud, RIT
Team 3, Mount Calvary and Orange Cross Ambulances and
Town of Calumet First Responders
