Sunday Stabbing In Oshkosh Takes Life Of Retired Oshkosh Police Officer

A retired Oshkosh Police Department Captain has been identified as the person stabbed to death over the weekend.

Oshkosh Police say Jay Puestohl retired as Captain of Investigative Services Bureau back in 2008. Puestohl suffered stab wounds Sunday afternoon in the 1200 block of Waugoo Avenue about 4pm. When officers arrived, they found Puehstol suffering from the stab wounds, and he was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A 28-year old Oshkosh man was taken into custody on a charge of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide. Police say Puehstol, the suspect and a 63-year old woman who also suffered injuries at the scene, all knew each other.
