Super PAC Files Lawsuit Against Johnson, Others

Minocqua Brewing Company owner Kirk Bangstad has filed suit in federal court, alleging Senator Ron Johnson and Congressman Tom Tiffany and Scott Fitzgerald of aiding the January 6th attack on the Capitol.

Bangstad claims that violates the 14th Amendment, which kept former members of the Confederacy out of Congress.

“You can’t run for office if you’ve been convicted of being a part or aiding and abetting an insurrection. So we had an insurrection on January Sixth. This law’s really old but it holds. That’s the basis of it.”

Bangstad’s Super Pac filed the suit in the Eastern District of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, on behalf of 10 Wisconsin residents. Johnson calls the lawsuit ‘total nonsense.’
