Suring Superintendent Faces Charges For Searches

The Superintendent of Schools in Suring is now charged with six felony counts, connected to a controversial search for vaping devices.

Kelly Casper conducted a search of six high school girls for vaping cartridges. She’s now charged with six counts of false imprisonment.

If the case goes to trial, a jury would decide whether the search conducted by Casper and a school nurse amounted to an illegal strip search.

The girls say they were told to undress down to their underwear. Casper faces up to six years in prison on each charge if she’s convicted.
