Suspect in Gun Burglaries Arrested
The man accused of burglarizing at least five homes in Fond du Lac County – stealing an estimated seventeen guns – has been taken into custody.
Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Detective Cameron McGee says 33-year old Matthew RK Britton was taken into custody without incident just before 7:00pm Tuesday night.
McGee adds that Britton also had an active warrant for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Britton’s current address is listed as homeless – and investigators have not reported whether any of the guns were recovered.
The daytime burglaries were reported in the townships of Friendship and Eldorado dating back to October, including two since last Wednesday. The homes appear to have been targeted and were not locked at the time of the crimes.
