Suspect Still At Large after High Speed Chase

A suspect remains at large after a high-speed chase
through a portion of Fond du Lac County early this (Saturday) morning. Fond du
Lac County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to pull the suspect over for a traffic
violation on Interstate 41 near Lost Arrow Road in the Town of Byron around
1:51 am. The driver then increased speeds of over 100 miles per hour traveling
north on I-41. The suspect exited at Winnebago Drive and then re-entered the
interstate going south on I-41 while throwing items out of the car. Deputies
were able to use a tire deflation device to slow the vehicle down, which the
suspect stopped on I-41 between the exits to Hickory Street and Military Road.
He left the scene on foot heading towards Rolling Meadows Drive and Hollander
Court. Deputies lost sight of the suspect, who is described as a black male,
around 5’10” to 6 feet tall, wearing blue jeans and a light-colored shirt and
has a shaved head. A perimeter was set to try and locate him, but he was not
found. Sheriff’s officials say that the public is not in danger at this time
and they continue to look into his identity. No one was injured in the 12.5-mile
chase. City of Fond du Lac Police along with the Waupun Police K-9 unit
assisted sheriff’s deputies with the incident.
