Suspected Getaway Driver In FDL Bank Robbery Asks For New Judge

The suspected getaway driver in a Fond du Lac bank robbery is getting a new judge. During a motion hearing in Fond du Lac County Court this week 35-year-old Shafia Jones of Fond du Lac entered a plea, but then withdrew it. She has asked for a substitution of judge and Judge Dale English has recused himself from the case. Jones is suspected of driving the getaway car for her boyfriend Maranatha Henderson when he robbed the Guaranty Bank on March 15th. Jones is being charged as a party to the crime of armed robbery and robbery of a financial institution. She also faces two counts of bail jumping. Henderson was sentenced last week to 12 years in prison and 15 ½ years of extended supervision for his role in the robbery. The bank is located inside the Pick ‘N Save on West Johnson Street in Fond du Lac.
