Suspicious Fires in FDL Area Under Investigation

Investigators from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office,
City of Fond du Lac Police Department and North Fond du Lac Police Department are
working with special agents from the State Fire Marshal’s Office to investigate
five fires at homes in the area that are considered suspicious and may be
related.


A news release says the fires under investigation include:


1.  231
North Military Road in the City of Fond du Lac – reported at 3:00 am on
Thursday (March 19th).


2.  729
Maine Avenue in the Village of North Fond du Lac – reported at 12:30 am on Friday
(March 20th).


3.   N7494
Lakeshore Drive in the Town of Friendship – reported at 4:31 am on Friday
(March 20th).

Meadowlark Court in the Village of North Fond du Lac – reported at 5:07 am on
Friday (March 20th)


5.   60
Clinton Street in the Village of North Fond du Lac – reported at 8:58 am on
Friday (March 20th).

 

The release indicates that at least three of the fires
appear to have been set intentionally. Law enforcement is still collecting
evidence in these cases. Residents in the area are encouraged to inspect the
outside of their homes and report anything suspicious.

Wisconsin Arson Tip Line at 1-800-362-3005, or local law enforcement at
920-929-3390. Anonymous tips can be reported to the Fond du Lac County Tip Line
at 920-906-4777. Anyone who notices a suspicious person or circumstance in
progress should call 911 immediately.
