Sustain FDL Nears Goal Of 2020 Trees Planted For The Year

During the month of August, Sustain Fond du Lac is offering Fond du Lac residents and businesses Wisconsin native tree saplings at greatly reduced prices.  “We are still here” says Nick Teifke, Sustain Fond du Lac’s Communication Director.  “We are continuing to work toward our goal of having 2020 trees planted in Fond du Lac this year.”

So far, the organization has reached 74% of its goal after giving away 1400 seedlings in the spring.   Also included in the count are newly planted trees that have been purchased through their partner Haentze’s Floral or other vendors and registered on the organization’s website.  “We appreciate that the community responded so well to our spring seedling drive, and hope that we will have equal success in the fall portion of our campaign” states Teifke.

Sustain Fond du Lac will be collecting orders for the native saplings during the month of August.  If interested, go to  http://sustainfdl.org/  for further ordering and sapling information. Distribution will take place (with Covid-19 precautions in place) at the Gottfried Prairie and Arboretum shelter on the UWO Fond du Lac campus on Saturday, September 12th from 9 AM to noon.
