Sweet And Salty Pig Opening Wednesday In FDL

There’s a new restaurant opening tomorrow in the former Cool River Bar & Grill site on West Pioneer Road in Fond du Lac. The Sweet & Salty Pig will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until March 13th when hours will expand to 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Co-owner Allison Gossman says their philosophy is, “Savory always goes a little bit better if there is sweet attached to it.” They will also be servings some items through their drive through, which will open at 6 a.m. starting March 13th. She says, “We will have coffee, hot tea, smoothies, hot chocolate as far as beverages. But we will also have some breakfast sandwiches a breakfast burrito for instance, a biscuit sandwich, a breakfast quesadilla.” One of their brunch offerings will be chicken waffles featuring syrup specially made by a man from Wausau who has a unique way of aging it. She says, “Actually this syrup was aged in 1792 whiskey barrels and it is amazing. We’re going to drizzle that over our chicken and waffles with creamy pepper gravy as well. So you have that salty and sweet mixture again.” Other items on the menu include pulled pork, flat iron steaks and if you want to get in touch with your inner-Elvis peanut butter and bacon with bananas paninis. There will also be lunches to go. The restaurant also features a full bar. (The Sweet & Salty Pig Facebook photo)
