Taste Of FDL Announces Co Chairs

Fond du Lac Festivals, Inc. announces Angella Antkowiak, as the new junior co-chair for the 2015 Taste of Fond Du Lac, at Lakeside Park. Antkowiak will be working alongside Tad Wallender, senior co-chair for the Taste of Fond du Lac and owner of Fat Joe’s Bar and Grill.

“We are enthusiastic about Angella joining Tad as our latest co-chair and the first to help us with the new venue and new time for Taste 2015,” Ray Lapierre, FFI board president states. “It is an exciting time for Taste and Angella’s enthusiasm will be a tremendous asset as we look to making this year’s taste the best ever.”

Antkowiak was born and raised in the Fond du Lac community. She and her husband, Ed, have 3 kids Ethan, Alexis and Kassidy who all work to manage Ang and Eddies, a Chicago style pizza restaurant in Fond du Lac. Ang and Eddies has been a part of Taste of Fond Du Lac for the past 2 years, but as a junior co-chair Antowiak is looking forward to a more behind the scenes look of the event

“The most intriguing part about being a co-chair is all the behind the scenes work,” Antowiak said. “I’m most looking forward to sharpening my organizational skills and helping to coordinate many different restaurants at such a large event. I am also looking forward to the Taste being held at Lakeside Park this year.”

“I have known Angie for a few years,” Wallender said. “I think her passion about

her and her husband’s pizzas is through the roof. From working with her over the past months about the relocation of Taste, I know she will do a fantastic job this year, and next year as the senior co-chair. I look forward to “passing the torch” of senior co-chair and letting her make her own imprint on helping to evolve Taste.”

Tad Wallender, senior co-chair for the Taste and owner of Fat Joe’s Bar and Grill, has been participating in the Taste for three years, and even won Taste of Fond du Lac’s Best Sandwich in 2013 and 2014.

“I hope that Fond du Lac residents and event goers take away the satisfaction of

eating great food from local restaurants and businesses from the Taste,” Wallender said. “I think like any business owner or manager, I look forward to learning more about our\ customers and hearing their immediate feedback about our food.”

Taste of Fond du Lac will be held Sunday, August 23 from 12 to 6 p.m. at

Lakeside Park. The new venue will feature food, a beer garden, live music, and children’s activities. The presenting sponsor is Society Insurance in honor of their 100th anniversary. For more information, visit the Fond du Lac Festivals web site at www.fdlfest.com
