Teen Facing Charges after High Speed Chase in FDL, Winnebago County

A teenager from the Fox Valley is now facing charges after
leading authorities in Fond du Lac and Winnebago counties on a high-speed chase
in the early morning hours Saturday.

According to a news release, a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s
Deputy first saw the car being driven north on Interstate 41 near Hickory Street
around 12:30 Saturday morning, going 89 miles per hour. That deputy attempted
to make a traffic stop, but the driver refused to pull over.

The driver briefly exited the interstate at Military Road,
then got back onto the highway and increased his speed to continue to evade law
enforcement.

Authorities say they attempted to set up tire deflation devices
at several different locations along the interstate, but each attempt was
unsuccessful.

The pursuit was terminated in Winnebago County in the area
of Highway 44 on the south side of Oshkosh.

Authorities say their investigation found the driver was a juvenile
male from Little Chute. The suspect faces charges of felony fleeing and
eluding, operating without a drivers license and speeding.
