Thiesfeldt Staffer Fired Over Harassment Concerns

A legislative staffer for state representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt was dismissed earlier this month over concerns of harassment. Hariah Hutkowski was fired on May 3rd, the same day an open records request was filed asking for information about complaints against him. No formal complaints were filed against Hutkowski, but the Assembly reportedly received several informal concerns from staff members. He’s accused of repeatedly criticizing female staffers or commenting on what they were wearing – and why their dress was inappropriate. He also reportedly told a female staffer to medidate on a Bible passage so she could do a better job. Hutkowski says on Facebook that he was never contacted by Human Resources or the chief clerk about the problems.
