Thompson Receives First Dose Of Vaccine

Interim UW System President Tommy Thompson has received his first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. And he’s urging everyone else to do so, especially amid new emerging COVID-19 variants.

“This virus is no different than other viruses, evolving. That’s why it’s important to get the vaccine out there, before it starts getting more people infected. That’s what testing is all about, that’s what vaccines are all about.”

Thompson says he “feels great” after his first dose, and that the vaccine is safe and effective. Governor Tony Evers and his wife Kathy also received their initial shots last week.
