Three More People Charged In Sturgeon Egg Investigation

Three more people have been charged as a part of an on-going sturgeon caviar investigation. 51-year old Shawn Wendt of Oakfield, along with Mary L. Schneider, 87, of Fond du Lac and Victor R. Schneider, 88, are charged with Unlawful Sale of Game Fish. Those charges were filed in Fond du Lac County Court. The charges come after a lengthy investigation into reports that people in the Lake Winnebago region were processing sturgeon eggs in caviar and receiving compensation in return on the selling of the eggs. Ryan Koenigs, DNR Fisheries Biologist, was charged earlier in the month. All three are scheduled to make court appearances in April.
